Use raking when: you're on a basic padlock you've picked dozens of times and just want a quick open. Also useful for demonstrating lock vulnerability quickly.
Use SPP when: you want to learn a new lock, the lock has security pins, you want to record a pin-by-pin "solve" for the community, or you want to improve your skill.
Use SPP always when: the lock has any quality designation — security pins, disc detainers, lever locks. Raking simply won't work.
